We are hiring a postdoctoral fellow to join the ConsNet project’s team at the University of Milano-Bicocca (Bicocca) and the University of Milan (Unimi) in Milano, Italy.

The postdoc will join the ConsNet project, a study of conspiracy beliefs, their social network determinants, and how they impact health behaviors and outcomes in Italy (PI: Raffaele Vacca, Unimi; Co-PI: Viviana Amati, Bicocca). More information about ConsNet is here.

The position will be based at the Bicocca Department of Statistics and Quantitative Methods and will also be part of the Behave Lab in the Unimi Department of Social and Political Sciences (granted as one of the “Deparments of Excellence” by MIUR Italy, hosting 6 ERC projects, and many HE).

The postdoc will collaborate with other ConsNet team members in the following main task areas:

  1. Design of a national survey on conspiracy beliefs, personal networks, and health.
  2. Pre-processing and analysis of survey and personal network data.
  3. Development of statistical and agent-based models to analyze network data (egocentric and sociocentric), simulate whole networks, model conspiracy beliefs and health outcomes.

  • Expected salary range: € 2,300-2,500/month (after tax)

  • Duration: 20 months
  • Relevant candidate expertise and interests: social network analysis, network science, survey data, agent-based modeling, R/Python
  • PhD in Statistics, Social Sciences or related fields preferred but not required at start date
